The cake's lemony flavour comes from the addition of lemon juice and zest, giving it a refreshing character. The recipe is so easy that you can successfully prepare it for an unexpected visit from guests, and the result will surprise everyone.

Ingredients for Lemon Cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 lemons (juice and zest)
  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Ingredients for Decoration:

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 and 3/4 cups powdered sugar

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
  2. Whip the egg whites: Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
