Many of us start our daily duties right after waking up, whether it's taking care of children, work, school, or even a dog who's already waiting for us at the door with a pleading look. With this pace of life, few of us have time to focus on our health. Hence, the fondness for morning coffee, which is supposed to provide an energy boost for a good start to the day. However, there is a drink that will get us on our feet even better.

It’s been a mantra for years to reach for a glass of water more often. Dr. Magdalena Cubała-Kucharska, a doctor running the Institute of Integrative Medicine near Warsaw, talked about the benefits of drinking water in the morning on her Instagram. It turns out that one glass (250 mL) of lukewarm water can work absolutely wonders.

Why drink water on an empty stomach?

As Dr. Cubała explains, water hydrates the digestive tract and intensifies the secretion of digestive juices, thus stimulating the digestive system to work. Thanks to water, the intestines work better, which helps eliminate problems with bowel movements. Drinking water also supports the body's detoxification process.

Reaching for a glass of this drink regularly helps maintain good health. Dr. Cubała emphasizes that although water's impact on the skin is the most well-known context, this fluid excellently affects all tissues.
