In February of this year, Dani Alves was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison. A Spanish court found the Brazilian guilty of raping a 24-year-old woman in December 2022 during an event at a Barcelona nightclub.

Prosecutors are seeking a longer sentence, and Alves's lawyers, maintaining his innocence, have appealed the decision. On March 25, the ex-footballer, known for his time with Barcelona among other teams, was released after posting approximately CA$1.5 million in bail. He awaits a new trial while forbidden to leave Spain, and authorities confiscated his passport.

A photo shared on Joana Sanz's Instagram Stories shortly after his release caused quite a stir. With over 970,000 followers, she posted a picture holding hands with Alves, signalling ongoing support for her husband.

Recently, Sanz stirred the waters again. She shared several photos from a trip to Ibiza on social media. Dani Alves was also part of this getaway.

One of the photos Sanz posted captured Alves from behind as he stood on a cliff overlooking the sea. This image was quickly removed from her Instagram Stories following criticism for publicly supporting Alves, a convicted rapist, according to "Mundo Deportivo".

Spanish media report that Alves is required to check in in Barcelona every Friday to sign paperwork granting him conditional freedom. This requirement didn't stop him from taking a several-day vacation to Ibiza.
