Cuban soldiers missing after depot explosions in Holguín
Thirteen Cuban soldiers disappeared after explosions at an ammunition depot in Holguín province, approximately 700 kilometres from Havana. Authorities are investigating the matter.

According to authorities, the explosions were caused by a fire that broke out during construction work. An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances of this incident. The missing include four officers and nine soldiers.
Evacuation and authorities' response
Following the explosions, authorities evacuated 361 people from the surrounding areas to a safe location.
Footage posted on social media shows flames and plumes of dark smoke rising above the tree line.
Cuban authorities continue efforts to find the missing soldiers and secure the area.
