The heating season often brings challenges related to dry air, leading to discomfort and health problems, such as nasal mucosa irritation or breathing issues.

Wet towel on the radiator - A homemade air humidifier

The easiest way to increase humidity in your home is to hang a wet towel on the radiator. This simple trick immediately improves air quality. Just soak the towel in warm water, wring it out well, and hang it on the radiator.

Another effective trick is to place a drying rack with damp laundry near the heat source. As the laundry dries, moisture from the clothes rises, increasing air humidity.

Bowls of hot water and essential oil are another option. The evaporating water combined with your favourite essential oil scents humidifies and refreshes the air.

Not just towels, consider plants

Potted plants beautify the interior and help naturally humidify the air. Peace lilies, aloe, and dracaena are particularly recommended, as they effectively increase humidity levels.

Home methods for increasing air humidity are not only simple but also effective and inexpensive. By choosing the right method, you can easily ensure the comfort and health of household members without the need to invest in expensive humidifiers.
