This healthy, easy-to-make salad complements many dishes. Refreshing celery and juicy apple in a delicate dressing form a combination that will delight any fresh salad enthusiast.

Ingredients:

  • 5 celery stalks,
  • 1 apple,
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt,
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise,
  • Salt and pepper to taste,
  • Juice of half a lemon.

Preparation:

  1. Thoroughly wash and finely chop the celery.
  2. Peel the apple, remove the core and seeds, and chop into small pieces, then drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. In a bowl, mix the yogurt with mayonnaise, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Add the celery and apple to the dressing. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated.
  5. Serve immediately or chill in the fridge before serving.

Additional Tips:

  • If you want to enhance the flavour of the salad, you can add chopped walnuts or raisins for extra sweetness and crunch.
  • The salad tastes best when well-chilled, so it's a good idea to prepare it a bit earlier and let it set in the fridge.

Why should you include celery in your diet?

Celery is a vegetable with unique health properties that make it a valuable addition to your daily diet. It is low in calories and rich in fibre, which promotes a feeling of fullness and supports digestive health. With a high water content of about 95%, it hydrates the body while also having a cleansing effect, helping to remove toxins.

Celery is also a source of vitamins A, C, K, and several B vitamins, strengthening the immune system and supporting skin health. It also contains potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure, and antioxidants that protect cells from oxidative damage. Including celery in your diet can support heart health, have anti-inflammatory effects, and improve overall well-being.
