Celebrating 23 years: Pierce Brosnan's tribute to Keely Shaye Smith

Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith met at an industry party in Mexico. He was a movie star known among others from the James Bond series, while she was a journalist. A few days after their first meeting, they went on a date that lasted almost until dawn. There were tender glances and hand-holding. Sparks flew between them right away.

Brosnan met Smith three years after the death of his first wife, who passed away from ovarian cancer (he raised three children with her). Later, in interviews, he admitted that finding new love helped him cope with grief. Before the wedding, Brosnan and Smith welcomed two sons into the world – Dylan Thomas and Paris Beckett.

In 2001, after seven years of relationship, the couple got married in Ireland. The ceremony, attended by a hundred guests, was lavish. The lovers spared no expense for the organization, including flowers worth CAD 167,000, an ice sculpture, a multi-tiered cake, and a helicopter.

In early August 2024, Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Brosnan celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary. On this occasion, the movie star posted current and old photos on Instagram. "Happy 23rd anniversary my darling Keely my beautiful brown eyed girl, my north, my south, my east and west," wrote the film's Agent 007.
