Carlson seeks Moscow's view: Lavrov warns of nuclear risk
Former Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson flew to Moscow again. This time, he conducted an interview with the head of Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov. The recording is set to be released "soon."
Carlson argued that he wanted to talk to Lavrov to show the "Russian perspective" on the conflict in Ukraine. He also stated that we are closer to nuclear war than during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He claimed he also asked Lavrov questions about whether the world is heading towards an unprecedented conflict between Russia and the USA and what the election of Donald Trump as president means for the conflict in Ukraine.
Additionally, Carlson claimed that he has been trying for over a year to speak with Volodymyr Zelensky, but "the U.S. government is thwarting these efforts."
Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also shared information about Carlson's conversation with Lavrov on social media. She posted a photo of the journalist and the politician together.
Carlson in Moscow again
The last time Carlson visited Moscow was in February 2024 to interview with Vladimir Putin.
The interview was criticized because Carlson did not ask the Russian president difficult questions, such as those regarding the bombing of cities, grain theft, or the deportation of Ukrainian children. Instead, Putin had plenty of time for various historical digressions.
