Biden steps down, Russia reacts, conspiracy charge follows

Joe Biden has resigned from running for the presidency of the USA. The first comment from Russia came from Maria Zakharova on the Telegram platform. "Joe Biden announced that he is withdrawing from the presidential race, but did not specify exactly where," wrote the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson.

Maria Zakharova's post is Russia's first reaction to Joe Biden's resignation. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson noted that the incumbent US president did not inform "where exactly" he intends to withdraw.

"The next step should be an investigation into the conspiracy among American media and political circles that concealed his (Joe Biden's - ed.) true mental health status, manipulating public opinion and playing with one political party," Zakharova added.

Officially, Russia remains neutral towards the US presidential elections. Still, as reported by The Moscow Times at the beginning of July, no one hides their sympathy and support for Donald Trump.
