Having a vegetable garden has many advantages. When we grow our vegetables, we can be sure that harmful chemicals are not used. Moreover, watching the plants grow is very satisfying. However, a unique Japanese method will aid us if we are unsure whether we have a green thumb for cucumbers.

The method is increasingly popular among both experienced gardeners and amateurs. We explain exactly what it entails.

Cucumbers. Thanks to this method, you will harvest huge yields

The Japanese method guarantees better growth and durability of cucumber seedlings. All thanks to strengthening the root system. This results in more abundant crops during the season, less susceptibility to diseases, and an extended fruiting time.

What exactly is the Japanese method for cucumbers? It all starts by filling half a container with sawdust and pouring hot water. When the mixture cools, knead it thoroughly until it forms small pieces – this is how we create the fertilizer, which is half the battle.

How to sow cucumbers according to the Japanese method?

Once we have the sawdust, we dig holes in the beds and place cucumber seeds. Then, we cover them with the sawdust paste. We wait for our cucumbers to germinate and then traditionally transplant these plants.

Remember to sow cucumbers in fertile, humus-rich soil. It’s best if it’s a place where the soil heats up quickly. When the cucumber growing season comes and during hot spells, water the seedlings daily in the evening using lukewarm water.

A good element of care is using appropriate fertilizers and covering leaves directly exposed to the harsh sun.
