Zelensky's bold declaration: Russia must face its crimes

President Volodymyr Zelensky, during the joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Kyiv, stated that Russia must come to terms with the crimes it is committing in Ukraine.
In the context of potential peace negotiations, it would be better if Russia "went to hell."
- Where should Russia go? Preferably to hell. It would be good if they understood what they are doing - they are killing us, and we are defending ourselves and fighting the enemy, said Zelensky. He emphasized that Ukraine's plans remain unchanged.
- Of course, we very much want to be stronger so that this war ends in 2025. I apologize for my undiplomatic language, he immediately added.
Ukraine - Russia negotiations
Ukraine and Russia are not currently conducting peace talks. President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that the only negotiations between Ukraine and Russia concern the exchange of prisoners.
The Financial Times reports, however, that Ukraine and Russia are negotiating to stop attacks on energy infrastructure.
Such an agreement could be the biggest step towards de-escalation since the beginning of the war. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that this agreement could indicate Russia's readiness for broader peace talks.
