June, July, and August are the months during which we battle high temperatures. While on the one hand, we enjoy vacations and time off, on the other, we struggle with much worse well-being and even irritability. However, we can quickly cool the apartment to be more pleasant at night.
How to cool the apartment?
Each of us probably has our way of cooling the apartment. If none of them have met our expectations, it's worth trying two that always work. They are simple, cost nothing, and will make the apartment cooler.
- If it's hot outside and sunny, never open the windows. While it may seem like a good step, open windows will let hot air into the apartment and not cool it down.
- During heat waves, ensure all windows are covered with blinds or curtains. This will keep the sun out of the apartment.
Do not turn on the fan at night
Many people invest in fans and air conditioners during the summer. While it is a solution, we should be cautious when using them. This is especially true for fans, which can do more harm than good.
Firstly, people who suffer from severe dust allergies and their effects, such as hay fever, should not use fans. Dust often settles on fans, so if they're not regularly cleaned, they can quickly trigger an allergic reaction.
Secondly, fans dry out already dry air. Our bodies, which try to defend themselves in such situations, will start producing more mucus. This can lead to dehydration, runny nose, nasal congestion, sinusitis, and even bronchitis.
Thirdly, constant exposure to cold air can cause joint pain and stiffness. We must be cautious about the temperature in the room.
