Many of us have a problem with continuous snacking. This habit often leads to being overweight, the appearance of love handles, and a belly tire. If we aren't full from our lunch—or if we are, but the feeling doesn't last very long—we can be sure that soon, even before dinner or an afternoon snack appears on the table, we will reach for something "innocent" to munch on.
If you also fall into this frequent pattern, you are likely looking for ways to ensure longer-lasting feelings of fullness after eating. Fortunately, there are a few tried-and-true "tricks" for this. One of them is to drink some water with ginger. This combination turns out to be exceptionally effective in this context.
Water with ginger: Many benefits in one glass
Drinking a glass of ginger water provides many health benefits. This drink supplements our diet with vitamins A, B, E, K, and C, folic acid and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron. Additionally, ginger has antiviral and antibacterial properties, which will certainly be useful during the constant cold season.
The most interesting effect of water with ginger is its impact on weight loss. This drink stimulates the metabolism, positively affects the digestive system, and—most importantly—reduces appetite and extends the feeling of fullness. Drinking a glass of the infusion helps us avoid hunger pangs. It is also worth mentioning that ginger affects thermogenesis, the burning of fat tissue.
Water with ginger: How to prepare it?
Preparing water with ginger will take you literally just a few moments. How do you do it? First, wash the ginger root and peel it with a teaspoon. Cut the ginger into strips or cubes, place it in a container, and pour hot water over it. Steep for a few minutes under a cover. When the water cools, strain it and add your favourite additions: honey and lemon work great.
