Wings, feathers, angels, expensive jewellery, high heels, lace, and silk are synonymous with Victoria's Secret fashion shows. Although the company is best known for its lingerie, pyjamas, and cosmetics, until 2021, its events would draw global attention once a year. In 2024, after a break of a few years due to issues such as criticism of model selection, the COVID-19 pandemic, and changes in fashion trends, stars of the fashion world returned to the most prestigious lingerie catwalk. Traditional panties were swapped for intricately designed costumes modelled by the most sought-after models in the industry. Being a Victoria's Secret "angel" is realizing career dreams for many.

The Hadid sisters together again

The Victoria's Secret 2024 show, which took place on October 15, 2024, at 8:00 PM ET in New York, was opened by Gigi Hadid. The popular model and former partner of Zayn Malik has graced these legendary runways many times. This time, she had the honour of kicking off the show, emerging from beneath the stage in a dramatic entrance reminiscent of Taylor Swift. She wore enormous, movable wings that unfolded gracefully as she walked down the runway. Gigi paid tribute to her friend by striking two poses that Swift uses during The Eras Tour.

In addition to Gigi, her younger sister, Bella Hadid, also participated in the show. The model wore a long red coat paired with matching lingerie. Many were eagerly anticipating her appearance, especially fans concerned about her health.

Transgender models conquer the fashion world

The LGBTQ+ community was proudly represented at the Victoria's Secret show by two models: Brazilian Valentina Sampaio, who first became an angel in 2019, and American Alex Consani. Both transgender models expressed immense joy about participating in the show. Alex wrote on Instagram: "Alex Consani | VICTORIA SECRET ILYYY Little me is screaming I can't even say anything other than thank you <3." Valentina Sampaio added, "Still no words for today! Marked forever! Tomorrow I'll post more! Thank you ✨." She included a video of herself signing angel wings in her post.

Icons have returned

What would a Victoria's Secret show be without surprises? This time, it was Kate Moss's return. The 50-year-old model seems to defy time with her timeless beauty. Her walk down the runway left both internet viewers and attendees breathless. Alongside Kate Moss, a longtime Victoria's Secret model, Adriana Lima returned to the show, declaring she "came home."

Music at the highest level

This year's musical performance was executed by four incredibly talented artists: Lisa, Tyli, Orianthi, and Cher. Dressed in attire inspired by the Victoria's Secret theme, these singers and instrumentalists demonstrated that live music perfectly complements the long-legged models on the runway.

Tyra Banks surprised everyone

It's often said that a show's first and last models are the most important, as they leave a lasting impression on critics and fans alike. Keeping this in mind, the organizers of the Victoria's Secret show delivered a surprise—the last to walk the runway was Tyra Banks. The supermodel made a stunning return to the angel ranks after a 19-year absence.
