Russians redeploy forces
Russia has already transferred about 30,000 soldiers from Ukraine to the Kursk direction, and this number is growing; the enemy is trying to withdraw units from other directions, informed the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, speaking online on Tuesday at the "Ukraine 2024. Independence" forum in Kyiv (10:00 AM ET).
"Of course, the Kursk operation led to the redirection of a significant number of enemy forces. At the moment, we can state that about 30,000 Russian soldiers have already been directed to the Kursk direction. This number is constantly growing," emphasized Syrskyi.
He noted that one of the tasks of the offensive operation in the Kursk direction "was to divert significant enemy forces from other directions, primarily Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo."
"Currently, we are still advancing, inflicting measurable losses on Russian troops in personnel and equipment. So far, we have taken control of about 1,300 square kilometres of territory. There are roughly 100 localities on it," declared the general.
