- We are working on a new strategy for our state at sea – the Ukrainian Maritime Strategy. This strategy will soon be approved by the National Security and Defense Council - announced the Ukrainian president.

- We understand clearly that the war has altered the power dynamics across our entire Black Sea region and that the Russian fleet will never dominate these waters again. We are securing our interests, taking into account Ukraine's new technological capabilities and our new relations with partners - he said in his statement.

He stated "From now on, Ukraine will always stand as a nation capable of defending its own maritime interests, transportation arteries, and the interests of our allies and partners."

- The Russian state must feel the response to its actions against our state and people, and this response to them is now evident - he said.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, Olena Kondratiuk, stated that "Polish air defence could protect the skies over the West of Ukraine."

The statement says, "Olena Kondratiuk asked the Speaker of the Upper House of the Polish Parliament, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błonska, to consider the possibility of using Polish air defence to protect the airspace of Ukraine's border regions."

Kondratiuk also informed that she asked the Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas, Viktorija Čmilyte-Nielsen, to convey this request at the summit of the NATO countries' parliamentary speakers, which will be held on Monday in Washington, D.C., the day before the NATO summit.
