The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner, a representative of the Republican Party, emphasized in a statement issued on Thursday that the United States should necessarily consider taking "direct military action." This should be in response to North Korean troops entering Ukraine.
Turner issued the statement after it was revealed that Russia received support in the form of thousands of soldiers from North Korea. His statement was reported by the American site The Hill.

On Wednesday, the White House announced that according to Washington's estimates, at least 3,000 North Korean soldiers are participating in training at Russian bases in the Far East. This was previously reported by South Korean intelligence.
In his statement, Turner emphasized that the Biden and Harris administration should clearly declare that the involvement of North Korean troops in the conflict will be considered by the U.S. as crossing a red line. In his opinion, this would warrant a firm response.
"In the situation where North Korean forces decide to invade the sovereign territory of Ukraine, the United States must seriously consider taking military action against them," Turner noted.
Michael R. Turner is a Congressman from the Republican Party. Since 2003, he has been the representative of Ohio's 3rd congressional district to the United States House of Representatives.
