Twin sisters' joyful reunion leads to bitter business fallout
Zhang Li and Cheng Keke, from Henan province in China, were separated right after birth. Thanks to social media, they finally found each other after 30 years of searching. The joy of their reunion was immense, but their happiness quickly turned into conflict.
According to the "Daily Mail," the sisters met for the first time in 2021 when they noticed an uncanny resemblance to each other online. After conducting a DNA test, it was revealed that they are identical twins, and their families confirmed they were separated at birth. Initially, their relationship blossomed with joy and enthusiasm, and the sisters' story quickly gained popularity in China, attracting media and online attention.
Due to the growing interest in their story, the sisters decided to embark on a joint business venture in the e-commerce industry, hoping for success thanks to their unique connection.
Unfortunately, their collaboration did not last long, as tensions quickly arose between them, leading to numerous conflicts. Differences in work approaches and visions for the future caused the relationship, which was supposed to be the start of a new chapter in their lives, to turn into a series of misunderstandings.
The twins severed contact
Keke accused Li of leaving live broadcasts without warning and disappearing for several days. "She never said anything when she left, and I could never find her. This is not the kind of work approach I like," said Keke, as quoted by the "Daily Mail."
Li, in turn, blamed Keke for their business failures, claiming they lost about 112,000 CAD. "I told her outright that I wouldn't do live broadcasts with her anymore," Li stated.
After their unsuccessful online venture, Li opened a shop in her hometown of Dengfeng. Keke came to support her, but the conflict worsened, especially over management and finances. In January 2023, there was a final confrontation, after which Keke severed contact with Li. According to the "Daily Mail," since then, the sisters have not maintained any relationship.
