There are plenty of ideas for oatmeal, but the golden version should reign supreme at this time of year. Instead of just adding fruits and nuts, open the spice cabinet and take out a sachet of yellow powder. It'll be even healthier and tastier.

Golden oatmeal

Oatmeal is the undisputed queen of breakfasts. Quick, nutritious, and incredibly healthy, it provides plenty of energy for the whole day. Rich in fibre, vitamins, and minerals, it supports gut health and maintains stable blood sugar levels. Add a warming, slightly spicy spice to spice up your everyday meals. You definitely won't regret it.

Turmeric, as it is called, is an extraordinary spice with an intense yellow colour and a characteristic, slightly sharp taste that adds a unique aroma to dishes. The curcumin it contains is a true natural treasure with remarkable health properties. It has strong anti-inflammatory effects, can help lower cholesterol levels, prevent blood clots, reduce the risk of heart disease, and improve cognitive functions such as memory and concentration.

Turmeric can alleviate digestive problems like bloating, constipation, and heartburn. It also has a warming and strengthening effect on the body, helping protect against infections. Golden oatmeal is a fantastic way to incorporate this spice into your daily menu.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or clarified butter
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • A pinch of pepper
  • 60 millilitres of oats (about 1/4 cup)
  • 250 millilitres of milk (plant-based or cow's, about 1 cup)
  • Honey to taste
  • Fruits and nuts (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Melt butter or coconut oil in a pot, add spices, and heat for a moment.
  2. Pour milk over the spices and bring to a boil.
  3. Add oats and simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  4. Sweeten with honey and add your favourite toppings.

Golden oatmeal is ready to brighten your morning. Enjoy your meal!
