Donald Trump is poised to become the 47th President of the United States. Although he has not yet been sworn in, there is already speculation regarding the policies that the U.S. leader intends to implement.

The war in Ukraine remains a significant concern for Poland. According to leaks from the "Wall Street Journal," Trump is considering resolving the conflict by establishing a demilitarized zone along the current front line. The Russians would retain the occupied territory, while the United States would continue to supply arms to Ukraine. Meanwhile, according to this vision, Western countries such as Poland, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom would help maintain peace with their military forces along the future demarcation line.

The first actions of President Trump: What the Russians predict

The Russian Insider reports that Trump will concentrate on domestic policy within his first seven days. According to the portal, via Fox News, the new president aims to annul 94 orders issued by Joe Biden within a week.

According to Alexandra Filipenko, a Russian Americanist based in Moscow, Trump plans to concentrate on three primary areas. The first focus will be on public health. The incoming president intends to reverse the previous administration's strategy, which could also affect Biden's order concerning access to contraceptives.

Migrant issues are next on the agenda. Filipenko states that Trump intends to reverse regulations related to asylum acquisition and tighten immigration policy. - The last major immigration law was passed in 1990, and U.S. immigration policy largely relies on presidential executive orders - the political scientist explains. In her view, illegal migration to the U.S. is among the reasons contributing to Joe Biden's defeat.

The final significant issue is the regulation of artificial intelligence. Donald Trump wants development in this area to continue without interruption. - He is likely to repeal Biden's memorandum concerning the use of artificial intelligence and related intelligence programs, Filipenko suggests.

The inauguration of the new president is scheduled for January 20, 2025. Even though Trump has stated that he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine in a single day, it is evident that achieving this will take considerably longer and require extensive, multilateral negotiations.
