Trump-Zelensky clash: Kremlin cheers while deal stalls

It's remarkable that US President Donald Trump and his deputy JD Vance managed to "hold back" and did not "lash out" at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Friday. Russian authorities responded positively to the leaders' disagreement.

Much of the information provided by Belarusian and Russian media or government representatives consists of propaganda elements. These reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

During a meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the White House, which included a joint press conference, a heated exchange occurred between the leaders. As a result, the signing of a bilateral agreement allowing American companies to exploit rare earth metals in Ukraine was postponed. This was supposed to be the key point of Zelensky's visit. The President of Ukraine then left the White House.

Later, Trump posted a comment on social media, encouraging the Ukrainian president to return "when he is ready for peace." He also accused him of disrespecting the United States.

A Vladimir Putin advisor responded to the recording of the intense exchange in the Oval Office with a single word.

"Historic" – wrote Kirill Dmitriev on the X platform.

Dmitriev is the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and participated in recent talks between the US and Russia in Saudi Arabia.

Former President Dmitry Medvedev described Trump's rhetoric towards Zelensky as a "proper slap down in the Oval Office."

He referred to Zelensky as a "pig," and his administration as the "Kyiv regime."

Pro-Kremlin media: Zelensky "argued and was rude"

The headline of the Russian news agency TASS stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "interrupted, argued, and was rude to the press."

"During the meeting with US President Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky attempted to argue with the American leader, shouting, occasionally responding to the press's questions before him, and sometimes directly interrupting and reacting rudely to some journalists' questions" - reported the TASS agency.

The headline of another Russian state news agency RIA read: "Zelensky's outburst in the White House shocks the Council," referring to the Ukrainian parliament.

"The White House has never witnessed such emotions before" - wrote a well-known pro-Kremlin television channel.

Meanwhile, Russian state media presenter Olga Skabeeva stated on her Telegram channel - speaking sarcastically - that "Zelensky apparently spoke to Trump from a position of strength."
