Donald Trump has entered the presidential elections. According to the American media, his wife does not see herself as First Lady. "This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win. (...) Melania does not spend much time away from the White House," we read in Vanity Fair.

In July, the Republican National Convention announced that Donald Trump had been nominated as the presidential candidate. According to the latest poll published by The New York Times, Trump has a one-point lead over Kamala Harris.

What does Melania Trump think about it? According to an article published in "Vanity Fair" as early as 2017, she hoped her husband would not win the election. "This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win. She didn’t want this come hell or high water. I don’t think she thought it was going to happen," the article states.

She didn't want him to win

In September 1998, during a party at the prestigious Kit Kat Club, Melania Knauss met Donald Trump. At that time, the future president was separated from his second wife, Marla Maples. They got engaged in 2004, and a year later, they married. They had a son, Barron.

Trump had already considered running for governor of New York, but the real breakthrough came less than ten years later. It was then that he announced he would run for the presidency of the United States, which his wife did not like. The model enjoyed her life and did not want to participate in politics.

"He is a bit above God himself"

The latest polls indicate that Donald Trump may win the next election. This time, Melania has no intention of serving as First Lady. Page Six reports that the couple had made a pact in case of a win.

"Melania has made a deal with her husband that if he wins the presidency she will not have to be on first lady duty 24/7. (...) She’s a hands-on mother, and is already planning to spend part of every month — and potentially every week — in NYC," the report reads.

According to Anthony Scaramucci, former White House communications director, Melania is "tired of all the nonsense" accompanying the election. Although rumours of the Trumps' imminent divorce pop up in the media occasionally, lawyer Raoul Felder claims such a solution is out of the question.
