Are you looking for an easy and affordable method to create a natural air freshener? A particular TikTok has a solution that could eliminate the need for costly scent sticks or spray fresheners.
Luan is a TikToker who frequently offers his followers tips on DIY projects and home renovation. Over 680,000 users follow his channel, attracted by his budget-friendly and effective advice. Recently, he revealed a trick for achieving a “rich person's scent,” explaining how it makes his house smell like it belongs to someone truly well-off.
In his video, Luan from the TikTok profile @tipsfromluan explained that this method is particularly suited for fans of citrus scents. He cut limes into four pieces, then sprinkled each with a teaspoon of coarse salt. After that, he poured 3 teaspoons of rubbing alcohol into each bowl containing the citrus pieces.
Luan showcased three different versions of the homemade freshener. One container was left with lime, salt, and rubbing alcohol; he added half a cap of any fabric softener to another for an enhanced scent; and to the third, he added cloves, which help repel pests.
Where to place homemade air fresheners?
Luan noted that the combination of all three homemade air fresheners is effective throughout the house. He keeps the basic version in the bathroom, while the one with cloves is positioned near the window to keep flies and mosquitoes at bay.
The variant with fabric softener is strategically placed in the living room because it emits a strong and delightful fragrance, often leading his friends to inquire about the pleasant scent. Luan believes that once you’ve prepared these air fresheners, you’ll never feel compelled to purchase a commercial home scent again.
