We often hear about the accidental deaths of influencers from around the world. Often, the cause of death is a lack of attention and failure to observe safety measures, such as taking selfies in dangerous places. This time, the media reported the tragic death of two Brazilian women: Aline Tamary Moreira de Amorim and Beatriz Tavares. Both were very active on Instagram.

Two Brazilian influencers have died

The influencers drowned during a yacht cruise along the coast of Brazil. The accident occurred near São Paulo. The yacht capsized after stronger waves hit the boat, and passengers fell overboard. The news service G1 Globo reported that only five of the seven people on board were rescued.

The bodies of 37-year-old Aline Tamary Moreira de Amorim and 27-year-old Beatriz Tavares da Silva were found a little later. It was then confirmed that they had died. In an interview with TV Tribuna G1 Globo, local police chief Marcos Alexandre Alfino admitted that both women refused to wear life jackets because they were taking selfies.

They said the life jackets would get in the way of tanning - he added.

The Brazilian news source reports that the deceased did not know each other before the yacht party.

According to information obtained by G1 Globo, Amorim—who reportedly has a 17-year-old son—was sharing pictures of herself at sea on social media shortly before her death. In a media conversation, her brother emphasized that she did not know how to swim.

Tragedy on the yacht

The tragic accident occurred at the end of September in a region known as Garganta do Diabo, which means Devil's Throat. In a statement to the police, the yacht's pilot claimed that he tried to help everyone who fell from the boat but explained that he could only pull some from the sea.

The International Business Times contacted a party attendee, Vanessa Audrey da Silva. She admitted that she immediately put on a life jacket and held onto a rock when the boat started to sink. She managed to hold on until help arrived.

There was a moment in the water when no one could see anyone. I fought for my life - she admitted.

An additional vessel took those rescued back to land.

The direct cause of the influencers' deaths was their lack of life jackets. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the accident further. It is possible that the yacht was overloaded, and other safety regulations were not observed.
