Putin planned sabotage; tests were conducted in Poland
"The New York Times" reported that Joe Biden and American intelligence warned Vladimir Putin about the consequences of the Russian-planned sabotage using explosive devices on transatlantic flights.
According to the newspaper, Russian services planned to place self-igniting courier packages aboard planes flying to the USA and Canada. The US Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, emphasized that "the risk of a serious accident was real". American services discovered that Russians tested this method during the summer when there were fires in hangars in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Poland.
