Mark T. Kimmitt, a retired U.S. Army brigadier general, suggests a three-point strategy in "Politico" that could help Ukraine hold its ground against Russia. "For years, the West has faced Russian propaganda and psychological warfare, yet we possess a comparable arsenal of tools — it's high time we fully tapped into them," the expert states.

Today marks the 806th day of the war between Ukraine and Russia. In Russia, "Victory Day" is observed with considerable fanfare, and the situation on the frontline is deteriorating for Ukraine. As the Russian military's dominance grows and Ukraine grapples with shortages of weapons and personnel, there are escalating calls for NATO forces to enter the fray officially.

Meanwhile, "Politico's" expert, Mark T. Kimmitt, identifies three crucial strategies for Ukraine's effective defence. According to the retired general, the West has yet to take adequate measures to back Ukraine in its battle against the stronger adversary.

He stresses that inaction in support — spurred by threats from the Kremlin, among other factors — has effectively bolstered its position. Kimmitt contends that only a decisive and direct countermove can halt Russia.

The American general argues that "the current dilemma in Ukraine needs a solid counteraction for Kyiv to persevere in the conflict." He suggests that the USA and its allies should emulate Great Britain, easing the strict regulations on weapons deliveries to Ukrainian forces and permitting them to target locations within Russia. Despite providing an additional aid package to Ukraine, he asserts that this authorization is pivotal to impeding the adversary's forces. Failing to do so might grant Russia the upper hand.

Overall, U.S. Army officials note that the current risk in supporting Ukraine is "manageable," but it’s time to take a bit more risk and dip further into those stockpiles to stave off potential defeat. Winning wars is expensive, but not nearly as expensive as losing them — General Kimmitt penned in "Politico".

Considering the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the forthcoming presidential elections in the USA, the general emphasizes that the Biden administration must constantly remind Americans about the ramifications of Ukraine's collapse. Kimmitt suggests that American forces should fully leverage their capabilities in information warfare to disseminate the truth deep within Russia.

The West has endured Russian propaganda and psychological tactics for years, yet we have a toolkit just as powerful — and the moment has come to put it to full use - he concludes.
