Another car factory has halted production temporarily. This involves the Detroit Assembly Complex, owned by the Stellantis group, which manufactures Jeep and Dodge models.
The factory management immediately announced the decision on Monday, October 30. A statement providing more context on the situation was also released.
Stellantis is making essential adjustments to synchronize production with sales, including modifications to its manufacturing processes. The company will monitor developments and evaluate if further measures are required, as stated.
The Detroit Assembly Complex - Jefferson produces large SUVs from the Stellantis group, including Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. Until recently, the factory employed about 5,000 people. In September, 200 were laid off, and further reductions are not ruled out.
