Sophie Turner, the 28-year-old star of Game of Thrones, shared a series of photos on Instagram to celebrate the 30th birthday of her new partner, Peregrine "Perry" Pearson. The couple officially confirmed their relationship during a luxurious ski holiday this year, although rumours first appeared in November when they were spotted kissing in Paris.
Perry is the eldest son of Michael Pearson, the 4th Viscount Cowdray, a former film producer with an estimated fortune of over 390 million Canadian dollars. To mark her boyfriend's birthday, Sophie posted pictures of their shared moments, captioning them: "Happy Birthday my angel pie. 30, flirty and thriving."
The photos show the couple in various relationship moments: kissing in a luxurious yurt, relaxing in pyjamas, and embracing at a party. Other photos show them against a hot air balloon backdrop, by the water, and in a snowy scene. You can also see them having fun in a club, sharing a beer, and glancing shyly at each other on the street.
The first marriage was too soon - divorce was no surprise
Joe Jonas, an American teen idol, and the then-21-year-old actress got engaged after a year of acquaintance. During that time, they behaved like lovestruck teenagers and played house with a jointly adopted dog. Then, they repeated every other mistake of hastily-made marriages—quickly becoming parents to strengthen their bond. And when things were falling apart, they decided... to have another child. The catastrophe was naturally unavoidable. After four years, they officially announced their split.
Then, a smear campaign erupted in the media against Sophie, trying to paint her as a bad mother. Articles appeared suggesting she was partying or working while Joe cared for their daughters. In reality, a battle for custody of the children was ongoing.
"I mean, those were the worst few days of my life. There were some days that I didn’t know if I was going to make it," admitted Turner. "I would call my lawyer saying, ‘I can’t do this. I just can’t.’ I was just never strong enough to stand up for myself. And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for. Once anyone says to me, ‘Do it for your kids,’ I’m doing it. I wouldn’t do it for myself, but I’ll find the strength for them," admitted Turner.
Last month, media reports stated that Sophie had finalized her divorce from Jonas. Turner has long been at a different stage of her life.
The latest production featuring the actress is a fact-based series "Joan," available to watch on the Epic Drama channel.
