Selena Gomez confronts body critics: "I'm just a human"

The film "Emilia Pérez" premiere at the American French Film Festival has come and gone, taking place at the end of October. Among the attendees was Selena Gomez, who appeared in front of photographers in an elegant black dress. Naturally, the internet was filled with compliments for her, but there was also a detail that some saw as an opportunity for unpleasant remarks.

While at the photo call, Gomez posed with her arms positioned in front of her stomach, which some commenters interpreted as an attempt to "mask" her figure. The news that body-shaming is rampant on TikTok eventually reached Gomez herself. She decided to respond and in doing so, revealed that she is battling a severe illness.

The singer confessed that she suffers from SIBO, which is Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. Previously, much had been discussed about her battle with lupus. Gomez posted a comment under one of the videos and quickly shut down the critics.
