Russia's quest for 'reasonable compromises' in Ukraine talks
Vladimir Putin said Russia is ready for reasonable compromises with Ukraine to end the war. However, the leader stated that "we are not talking about concessions or exchanges." He added that the outcome should be in favour of Russia.

- We are ready to seek compromises, ready to make those reasonable compromises, but now I don’t want to go into details, because there are no direct negotiations - Putin said in an interview for "Rossiya 1".
At the same time, he emphasized that it’s not about concessions or "exchanges". - The outcome should be in favour of Russia, I say this openly, without any shame, and it should be based on the reality that is shaping up on the battlefield - Putin stated.
According to him, Ukraine has already approached Russia twice with various proposals through Turkey, but "immediately withdrew its initiatives."
- Irrational behaviour that is hard to predict, and on this basis, no plans can be built. Therefore, talking about whether we will reach an agreement and what we can agree on is simply premature at this time - said the leader.
Erdogan offers assistance in talks
He also added that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proposed at the BRICS summit in Kazan to resume dialogue with Kyiv regarding the restoration of the grain corridor and the clearing of the Black Sea.
- We have never shied away from this. We’ve always assumed that in any agreements, Russian interests must be respected - Putin noted.
Turkey and China impose bans
The Russian leader's statement came after Turkey, without an official announcement, prohibited its exporters from transporting American products intended for military purposes to Russia.
According to "Financial Times", the ban covers 50 "high-priority" goods that the USA, EU, UK, and Japan have identified as critically important for the Russian defence industry. These include advanced electronics used in missiles and drones, remote control systems, as well as machines and other weapon production equipment.
The Chinese authorities also announced the introduction of export controls starting December 1 for the supply of products that could be used in the military industry.
In the near future, a list of goods subject to restrictions will be compiled, and exporters will have to disclose the final recipients of the products and the anticipated fields of application. The restrictions will also cover drones - noted the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. This information was provided on the day Putin held talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the BRICS summit.
