Russia claims ballistic attack on Crimea amid drone defences
During the night from Friday to Saturday, explosions were heard in several areas of Crimea. An air raid alert was announced in Sevastopol. The Russian governor of the city stated that it was caused by a "ballistic attack."

Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels reported sounds of explosions near Dzhankoy and Krasnoperekopsk in northern Crimea and near the town of Saky in the west.
Shortly after, an alert was announced in Sevastopol, located in the south of the peninsula. The Russian governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhayev, stated that it resulted from a "ballistic attack."
The alert lasted only 30 minutes. Residents reported at least three explosions near Dzhankoy that shook houses and another one near Saky.
Near both of these locations, there are Russian air bases that have been attacked multiple times by Ukrainians in the past.
Russian MOD: Air defence shot down 24 Ukrainian drones
At this time, the effect of the night attack on Crimea remains unknown. The Russian authorities have not provided any information. The Ukrainian side has also not yet reported what occurred.
Air raid sirens also sounded in other regions overnight. Alerts were announced in the Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, Oryol, Rostov, and Nizhny Novgorod areas.
In a morning communiqué, the Russian MOD reported that air defence destroyed 24 Ukrainian drones overnight.
