A few hours after the Israel Defense Forces announced the start of a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon, stating they would destroy Hezbollah's military infrastructure in villages near the border, alarm sirens wailed in Metula in northern Israel. Earlier, an alarm was raised in Avivim.

Rockets fell on Israeli territory

The Israel Defense Forces reported Tuesday morning that three rockets were launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel. Two of them (launched towards Upper Galilee) were intercepted by air defense, while the third, aimed at Baram, fell on open terrain. No casualties were reported, according to "The Times of Israel".

On Monday, the Israeli military announced that areas around three kibbutzim in the northern part of the country (Metula, Misgav Am, and Kfar Giladi) near the border with Lebanon are closed military zones. It warned that entry to these areas is prohibited.

According to Reuters and AFP, the Lebanese military, in response to the threat of an Israeli invasion, has redeployed its soldiers in the south of the country and withdrawn from several positions. The Lebanese army spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied these reports.
