Republicans are mobilizing forces ahead of the presidential elections. During Monday's convention in Milwaukee, delegates approved a platform to persuade Americans. The list includes some controversial points.

The platform consists of 20 points outlined on 15 pages. Many of the proposals are familiar slogans repeated by Donald Trump at campaign rallies.

The first two points address the issue of illegal migration to the United States. Republicans promise to "close the border and stop the invasion of migrants" and to "conduct the largest deportation operation in American history."

One of the points refers to the war in Ukraine and Israel. Trump's party declares that it will "prevent World War III and restore peace in Europe and the Middle East," as well as build a "great missile defence shield" over the entire territory of the US.

The document also states that the foreign policy of the Trump administration will focus "on the most basic American interests." "Starting with the American homeland, our nation, our borders, our Great American Flag, and our God-given rights," it reads.

In subsequent points, Republicans pledge to strengthen US alliances "by ensuring that allies must meet their commitments to our collective defence and by renewing peace in Europe."

The document repeats Trump's well-known idea of introducing universal, basic tariffs on all products from outside the US and "achieving strategic independence from China," including the gradual end of importing the most critical goods.
