In recent seasons, he has faced more battles with injuries than with rivals on the court, and these injuries have prevented him from returning to play at the highest level.

Rafael Nadal announced his retirement at the age of 38. He shared his decision with fans in a video.

Rafael Nadal spends time away from the court in a luxurious villa in Mallorca, which he purchased in 2013 for about CAD 3.7 million. The residence is in the picturesque Porto Cristo, offering a view of the Mediterranean Sea.

The house includes a gym, which helps him stay in shape, and spacious windows that provide views of idyllic coves.

To travel worldwide, Nadal uses his jet—a Cessna Citation CJ2+ worth CAD 6.2 million. It can accommodate eight passengers and costs about CAD 275,000 per year to maintain.

As Nadal admits, this jet provides him comfort and helps him avoid the risk of being stuck at airports, which once happened to him. Grateful for Roger Federer's help in the past, when Federer gave him a lift in his private plane, Nadal now eagerly offers rides to his court colleagues. Viktor Troicki published a photo on Twitter, thanking Nadal for a ride to London.

Nadal also owns an impressive catamaran. In 2019, he sold his Italian MCY 76 yacht for CAD 2.5 million and acquired an 80 Sunreef Power catamaran for CAD 5.6 million.

The luxurious vessel is designed for long voyages and complete comfort. Onboard, there is a garage for a jet ski, a jacuzzi, a bar, and a heated pool. The spacious living area on the main deck offers panoramic sea views.
