The Portuguese broadcaster conveyed that the Duke of Sussex and his spouse bought a house in the town of Comporta, located more than 95 kilometres south of Lisbon.
Harry and Meghan's property is located near the popular Comporta beach, where there are several luxury hotel facilities and a golf course.
According to Portuguese media, Prince Harry got to know the Alentejo region in 2023 when he and his wife visited his cousin, Princess Eugenie, who, a few years ago, bought a house in the town of Melides, about 30 kilometres south of Comporta, along with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan, currently live in Montecito, California. The house has nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms and is situated on a large plot with a rose garden and century-old olive trees. The property also features an extensive garden and a swimming pool. The couple also keeps animals, including chickens. The estate cost nearly 15 million dollars. The couple got married in May 2018.
The couple's impressive wealth
Harry's total fortune is estimated, depending on the source, at 30-40 million pounds. This is largely money that the prince inherited from his mother, Princess Diana.
The initial inheritance amounted to 10 million pounds, but the money was invested and multiplied. Additionally, there is about 7 million pounds from the Queen Mother, who deposited this amount in a trust fund.
Harry's wealth also includes money he earned while serving in the military, in accordance with British tradition. It is believed to have been about 40-50 thousand pounds per year.
Meghan herself has also accumulated a significant sum. She earned about 40 thousand pounds per episode of "Suits." Her lifestyle blog "Tig" was worth about 60 thousand pounds annually before she closed it. She also owns at least one property in Toronto. Her net worth is estimated to be 4 million pounds in total.
The couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement before marrying. This means their wealth is joint and would be divided in the event of a divorce.
