Prince Harry, wanting to spend more time in his home country, has a wide range of lodging options. However, the doors of the Frogmore Cottage estate in Windsor, where he used to live, are now closed to him due to King Charles's firm decision. The monarch's son had to leave the charming residence, which he moved into in 2018, right after marrying Meghan Markle.
Archie's and Lilibet's parents didn’t spend long mourning their lost property. Declaring a "foothold on this side of the Atlantic," they almost immediately began searching for a new home in Europe that fit their needs. The British portal Daily Mail reports that they have finally achieved this goal.
Prince Harry will live near his close cousin
The decision to purchase real estate in Europe was motivated not only by the desire to manage their interests outside the United States. With this investment, Meghan Markle can apply for a so-called golden visa, allowing free travel across the Schengen area. It’s worth noting that the 43-year-old sought British citizenship, but after returning to her home country in 2020, she paused all related formalities.
The Sussexes acquired a holiday home in Portugal a few days ago. This will allow them to meet more often with Princess Eugenie, one of the few royals who maintains regular contact with Harry. She has been living with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, for several years in a luxury apartment in the coastal town of Melides, located over 120 kilometres from the country's capital, Lisbon.
