A full stomach, bloating, and indigestion are common consequences of holiday feasting. How can you handle them? The perfect solution is a natural drink that brings relief and aids digestion. Check out the recipe for a smoothie that will become your holiday saviour!

Why do we feel so heavy after the holidays?

Holiday dishes, while delicious, are often difficult to digest. Large amounts of fat, sugar, and salt burden our bodies. Additionally, irregular meals, stress, and lack of exercise contribute to digestive problems. As a result, we may experience bloating, constipation, heartburn, and a feeling of heaviness in the stomach.

How to prepare a drink for constipation?

Preparing this smoothie is extremely simple, and the ingredients are easily accessible. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 4 dried plums,
  • 1 kiwi,
  • 1 tablespoon of wheat bran,
  • 1 cup of kefir (or water if you prefer a dairy-free version),
  • ½ cup of water (optional, for a thinner consistency).

Instructions:

  1. Pour hot water over the dried plums and let them stand for at least 15 minutes, preferably for a few hours. This will make them soft and easier to blend.
  2. Peel the kiwi and cut it into smaller pieces.
  3. Put the soaked plums (together with the soaking water), kiwi, bran, and kefir into a blender. If you wish, add some water to make the drink more fluid.
  4. Blend everything until smooth.

It's best to drink the smoothie in the morning on an empty stomach or during the day, especially after a heavy meal. Regular consumption for a few days can significantly improve your digestive system’s function.

A natural drink made from dried fruits and kefir is a simple way to alleviate digestive problems. Thanks to its high fibre and probiotic content, it supports intestinal peristalsis, reduces bloating, and accelerates digestion.
