According to a Marist Poll for PBS News and NPR, 51% of registered voters declare that they would vote for Kamala Harris, while 48% declare that they want to support Donald Trump.

According to PBS News, support for Harris has increased by 6 percentage points since Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race. Meanwhile, support for Trump has increased by 2 percentage points since the end of July.

If several candidates are running, Harris can count on 48% support, Trump on 45%. Robert Kennedy Jr. is supported by 5% of respondents, and Jill Stein by 1%.

Better results than Biden

Registered voters were also asked who they think will win the election. 48% indicated Harris, and the same number indicated Trump. Researchers note that not long ago, Trump had a 20-point lead over Biden in this category.

Voters were also asked about specific policies. The majority believe Harris will handle reproductive issues and "caring for democracy" better. Meanwhile, over half of the respondents believe that Trump will better handle the war in the Middle East and the economy.
