A plane carrying Malawi's Vice President Saulos Chilima and nine others has gone missing. According to the BBC, the aircraft disappeared from radar after departing from the capital city of Lilongwe on Monday morning (June 10). The search and rescue operation is ongoing but has not yielded any results.

According to BBC reports, the plane carrying Malawian Vice President Saulos Chilima and nine others disappeared from radar on Monday morning (June 10) shortly after taking off from Lilongwe's capital city. The plane was scheduled to land at Mzuzu International Airport in northern Malawi but disappeared from radar during the flight.

In a statement released by the President’s office regarding the disappearance, it was announced that President Lazarus Chakwera had cancelled his planned flight to the Bahamas.
Currently, the search and rescue operation is ongoing. So far, the aircraft has not been found. According to some unofficial sources, the plane may have made an emergency landing in a forest.
