Puff pastry is a real treasure in the kitchen. With it, you can prepare many different savoury and sweet delicacies. When the pistachio craze started, and more pistachio-flavoured treats began to appear, the idea sprouted in my mind. How about making quick pistachio rolls based on crispy, flaky puff pastry?
Pistachio rolls with puff pastry
They are quick to prepare; even a person far from being a master pastry chef can handle the recipe. Crispy pastry wrapped into rolls, drizzled with milk chocolate, and sprinkled with crushed pistachios is an impossible dessert to resist.
The ingredients are few, most of which you can easily find in the store. Freeze-dried raspberries do a great job here—they add freshness and a light, sour taste.
Ingredients:
- 2 sheets of puff pastry,
- a few tablespoons of milk,
- 150 grams of milk chocolate,
- pistachios,
- freeze-dried raspberries.
Preparation:
Step 1. Unfold a sheet of puff pastry on the counter and cut it into long strips. Taking the puff pastry out of the refrigerator about 20 minutes earlier is good. When it reaches room temperature, it becomes more flexible.
Step 2. Roll the puff pastry strips. They should be pretty tight so that the rolls don't fall apart.
Step 3. Place the rolls vertically on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush them with milk. Put them in the oven preheated to 204°C (400°F) and bake for 20 minutes until the rolls are browned.
Step 4. Melt the chocolate in a water bath and drizzle it over the baked rolls. Sprinkle everything with crushed pistachios and freeze-dried raspberries. A tasty and simple dessert is ready. Enjoy!
