Obama rallies with Harris targets Trump’s sales tactics

Former U.S. President Barack Obama participated in Kamala Harris's campaign rally, where he verbally attacked Donald Trump several times. He mocked him, among other things, for always trying to sell something to people. "The two-hour speeches, word salad, just it's like Fidel Castro. Just on and on. Constant attempts to sell you stuff" said the former president to voters.

Obama appeared on Kamala Harris's campaign trail. He began his speech at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, acknowledging the public's frustration with the current political climate. "Let's face it, as a country, we've been through a lot these last few years," he admitted.

Obama claims that this has contributed to rising prices, and the interests of society "have taken a back seat" in favour of the interests of the wealthy. He understands why people desire change.

Obama did not hold back

The former U.S. President recalled that he could not believe how expensive diapers were when he became a parent. "I remember changing diapers. Do you think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper?" Obama asked the crowd. "His own!" shouted one of the audience members, prompting laughter. "I almost said that, but I decided I shouldn't say it," Obama quipped, laughing.

However, this was not the only jab at Trump. "I cannot understand why anybody would think Donald Trump would shake things up in a way that would be good for you, Pennsylvania," said Obama, continuing: "because there is absolutely no evidence that this man thinks about anybody but himself," he continued.

"I’ve said it before: Donald Trump is a 78-year old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down that golden escalator nine years ago," Obama said.

He further mocked Trump for his "all caps tweets, ranting and raving about crazy conspiracy theories, two-hour speeches, word salad." "You have two-hour speeches and ramblings, like Fidel Castro, repeated relentlessly. Constant attempts to sell you stuff," the former president assessed.

"Who does that?" Obama wondered. "Selling you gold sneakers and a $100,000 watch and most recently, a Trump Bible. He wants you to find the word of God in the Trump edition. Got his name right there next to Matthew and Luke," the Democrat joked. Obama concluded by stating that Trump only does it because he cares about his ego, money, and status. "He’s not thinking about you," he emphasized.

During his speech, Obama also pointed out that Trump gets credit for the good condition of the economy during his term. "It was pretty good because that was my economy!" Obama boasted, and the crowd began to cheer. "We had 75 straight months of job growth that I handed over to him. And I spent eight years cleaning up the mess that the Republicans had left me the last time," Obama added.
