Nutty mountain: The holiday salad set to be this year's star

The continuation of unique holiday salads, and as part of this, I want to recommend to you a composition called the nutty mountain. You're probably guessing which main ingredient plays the leading role here. And what accompanies it? First and foremost, potatoes. This will be this year's hit!

Nuts have long been a very significant ingredient in my kitchen. I love them in every respect – flavour, appearance, texture, and health benefits. I sometimes use nuts to prepare cakes, coatings, and of course, salads. They pair perfectly with salads. This was confirmed to me by a recipe I recently received from a neighbour. Interestingly, it supposedly originates from Turkey. I quickly decided to adopt this recipe for the upcoming Christmas holidays.

To create the nutty mountain, besides the walnuts themselves, you only need a few more ingredients. Get some potatoes, eggs, and apples. Besides them, you'll also need mayonnaise, some dill, and wine. You're sure to be pleased with the result, and the other diners will be delighted. Surprise them at Christmas with the nutty mountain and watch their reactions. It will be sheer pleasure!

Nutty Mountain Salad

Ingredients:

  • 450 grams potatoes,
  • 2-3 apples,
  • 250 grams walnuts,
  • 2 eggs,
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise,
  • 60 millilitres red wine,
  • salt,
  • pepper,
  • dill.

Preparation method:

  1. Cook the potatoes for the salad with their skins on. Peel them only after cooking, when they are soft and cooled down. Finally, cut them into cubes.
  2. In the meantime, peel the apples, remove the cores, and then chop them into small pieces.
  3. Chop the hard-boiled eggs in the same way.
  4. Finely chop the walnuts.
  5. Transfer all the ingredients to a salad bowl, leaving a few walnuts to sprinkle on top.
  6. Season the salad with mayonnaise, wine, salt, and pepper.
  7. Add chopped dill and mix well.
  8. Garnish the top with walnuts, and it's ready. Enjoy your meal!
