High-ranking North Korean generals may be present on the front lines in Ukraine, claims South Korean intelligence. Unofficially, there are reports that "key officers" from the FSB were involved in deploying North Korean troops.
It has also been reported that North Korean soldiers are facing challenges with training due to the language barrier, prompting them to learn over 100 Russian words.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that North Korean soldiers clashed with the Ukrainian army on Friday. This incident allegedly occurred on October 25 in the Kyiv-controlled Kursk region of Russia. Jonas Ohman, head of the well-known Lithuanian NGO Blue/Yellow, which has been aiding Ukrainian troops since 2014, provided this information, having direct access to the front lines.
"Need for weapons"
The head of the Ukrainian president's office, Andrii Yermak, stated on Monday that the allies' sanctions are insufficient in responding to North Korea's involvement in the conflict. Ukraine needs weapons and a precise plan to prevent further involvement from Pyongyang in the European war, he added.
The head of Volodymyr Zelensky's office shared on Telegram that North Korean troops are indeed stationed in Russia's Kursk region, close to the Ukrainian border, as previously indicated and confirmed by South Korea. He noted that this development is now visible to NATO and Ukraine's allies and emphasized that North Korea’s military involvement in the Ukraine conflict marks an escalation.
