The Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 is one of the most recognizable sports cars in Japanese automotive history. Well-maintained examples are worth a fortune today, but unfortunately, they also attract the interest of thieves. The Australian branch of Nissan painfully learned this when it lost one of its exhibits.
This concerns a red R32 GT-R from 1991. The car, with its distinctive licence plate "GTR 091," was stolen from the Nissan office in Melbourne. Due to its perfect technical condition, its value was estimated at 220,000 Canadian dollars. Local police are investigating the matter. However, who might have committed such a bold theft is currently unknown.
Considering that only 100 R32 GT-Rs were sold in Australia between 1989 and 1994, the car is a very rare classic and a tempting prize for collectors. It was most likely stolen and ordered by professionals. Nonetheless, we hope it can be found.
