Another, described in a 2017 article on arXiv, indicates that the observed elements could be the product of the decay of undiscovered heavy elements from the hypothetical "island of stability." This second hypothesis opens fascinating prospects for future research that could uncover new aspects concerning matter and the universe's evolution.
According to some scientists, including Carl Sagan, the presence of these unusual elements might even indicate the activity of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations. This theory posits that intelligent life could deliberately add distinctly artificial elements to stars to attract the attention of other civilizations.
Although the hypothesis of alien civilization intervention is exciting, most researchers lean toward more natural explanations.
