Donald Trump started in the presidential elections. According to American media, his wife does not see herself as First Lady. "This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win. (...) Melania does not spend much time away from the White House," we could read a few years ago in "Vanity Fair."

In July, the National Convention of the Republican Party announced that Donald Trump was designated as the presidential candidate. According to the latest poll published by The New York Times, Trump has a one-point lead over Kamala Harris.

What about Melania Trump? According to an article published in "Vanity Fair" in 2017, she hoped that her husband would not win the elections. "This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win. She didn’t want this come hell or high water. I don’t think she thought it was going to happen," we read.

She did not want him to win

In September 1998, during a party at the prestigious Kit Kat Club, Melania Knauss met Donald Trump. The future president was then separated from his second wife, Marla Maples. They got engaged in 2004 and married the following year.

Trump was already considering running for Governor of New York, but the breakthrough came less than ten years later. That was when he announced that he would run for President of the United States, which did not please his wife. The model liked her life and did not want to participate in politics.

"He is slightly above God himself"

The latest polls indicate that Donald Trump still can win the election. However, Melania does not intend to perform the duties of First Lady this time. Page Six reports that the couple made a pact in case of a win.

"Melania has made a deal with her husband that if he wins the presidency she will not have to be on first lady duty 24/7. (...) She’s a hands-on mother, and is already planning to spend part of every month — and potentially every week — in NYC," we read.

According to Anthony Scaramucci, former White House communications director, Melania is "tired of all the nonsense" accompanying the elections. Although there are constant rumours about the Trumps' imminent divorce, Raoul Felder, a lawyer, claims that such a solution is out of the question.
