Recent terrifying events have unfolded in Barcelona. An aggressive man was attacking pedestrians in popular tourist areas before being captured by the police.

Both residents and tourists in Barcelona have been alarmed by reports of an aggressive man roaming the city. This individual was approaching people, yelling at them, threatening them, and even physically assaulting them.

The attack was captured on video

On October 7, a video filmed by a bystander went viral on social media. It showed the man approaching a couple with a small child in a stroller in the Montjuïc area. The footage depicts a relatively young man who begins shouting aggressively at the child's parents and then strikes a one-year-old girl in the face with significant force before her father can react.

The video shows the father quickly picking up the child and, along with the woman, walking away from the attacker in fear.

The enraged man continues yelling, initially attempting to follow the frightened tourist couple and ignoring the person capturing the incident on video. He eventually gives up and turns away.

Not the only victims

This recorded incident is not the only act of aggression perpetrated by this man. Another victim, a 60-year-old man, was also attacked without provocation. He sustained numerous facial injuries and severe bruising.

After several days, the police managed to arrest the aggressor. He was revealed to be a 31-year-old resident from the Maghreb, an area encompassing several North African countries. He will be charged with assault and making threats. It appears that the number of incidents involving his reprehensible behaviour is much higher than initially believed.

According to local police, all identified victims, including the child, are recovering. Thankfully, the little girl suffered only minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
