Israeli airstrike claims hospital staff lives in Gaza tragedy
At least 50 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the city of Beit Lahia in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, as reported by the Hamas-controlled Palestinian Ministry of Health late Thursday evening.
According to local medical services, among the victims were five employees of a nearby hospital, including a pediatrician, a laboratory technician, two paramedics, and a technician.
The Israeli military did not comment on these reports but confirmed that an Israeli soldier was killed on Sunday during fighting in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
Conflict in the Gaza Strip
The war in the Gaza Strip began after Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, in which approximately 1,200 people were killed, and 251 were kidnapped. In response, Israel launched a wide-scale military operation.
According to local authorities, more than 45,000 Palestinians have been killed as a result of the hostilities. The Gaza Strip is devastated, and the humanitarian crisis has forced most residents to leave their homes.
