Macron calls Pezeszkian

Referring to recent political changes in Iran, the French leader congratulated Pezeszkian on his election victory on July 5. He simultaneously emphasized that France expects significant changes from Iran. According to AFP, Macron also noted that releasing three French citizens who have been unjustly detained in prison for two years is a crucial condition for improving relations between Paris and Tehran.

President Macron did not overlook the issue of Iran's nuclear program, emphasizing the need to follow international guidelines and procedures.

Masud Pezeszkian assumed the position of President of Iran following the elections on July 5, replacing Ebrahim Raisi, who died on May 19 in a helicopter crash.
