Sergey Lavrov is known for his provocative statements toward the West. Recently, he declared, "If Western countries want to resolve the Ukrainian crisis on the battlefield, Moscow is ready for it."

Many reports from Russian media and government representatives are likely not true. These reports could be part of an information war from the Russian Federation.

Lavrov made these comments during a meeting in the Federation Council regarding his reappointment as the Foreign Minister.
This time, he assessed that if the West wants to fight on the battlefield for Ukraine, then Russia is ready. "They have the right, if they want to be on the battlefield, they will find themselves there," he stated.
He also mentioned that the conference scheduled for June in Switzerland on Ukraine, to which Russia was not invited, amounts to nothing more than "issuing an ultimatum to Moscow."

Lavrov believes such events are like a "reprimand for a pupil." "Like when a school board meets about a bad student. They decide everything among themselves, and at the end, they call him in and announce the verdict. One cannot speak like that, especially not with us," he mentioned.

Lavrov on NATO: spreading its tentacles

In his speeches, the Russian Foreign Minister, known for his provocative rhetoric, frequently targets the West, especially NATO countries.

During the International Exhibition-Forum "Russia," he criticized NATO as "a relic of the past. "NATO is spreading its, as we used to say in Soviet times, 'tentacles' across the whole planet. Unfortunately, but I think they will have had enough: you cannot impose your hegemony on everyone so shamelessly and aggressively. Times have changed," Lavrov remarked.

He then argued that NATO should have ceased to exist following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact.
